We are proud to announce that Green Light Consultancy Group has joined West Bromwich Albion’s partner portfolio as the club’s official energy partner, in a multi-year deal starting in the 2026/27 season.
What makes this one particularly satisfying is the order it happened in. The partnership follows work we had already done with Albion to secure the club’s energy position, at a time of continued volatility across global energy markets. The results came first. The partnership came after.

Securing the club’s energy position
Energy has been one of the hardest costs for any organisation to plan around over the last few years. Prices move daily, and a decision made in the wrong week can follow you for the length of a contract. For a football club, where budgets are set season by season and scrutinised closely, that uncertainty is more than an inconvenience.

Our work with Albion was about removing it. Securing an energy position at the right moment gives a club a number it can build a budget around, and that certainty is worth as much as the saving itself.
At a time of continued volatility across global energy markets, the team at Green Light Consultancy Group helped us secure our energy position, delivering a significant financial benefit to the club. We’re excited to build on this work throughout the 2026/27 season and introduce Green Light Consultancy Group to our supporters as a new partner.

What we do at The Hawthorns
A stadium is a demanding energy site. Floodlights, undersoil heating, hospitality kitchens, retail, offices and a training ground all draw power on very different patterns, and a match day looks nothing like the rest of the week. Managing that well takes more than chasing a headline unit rate.
Our role is to review how the club buys energy, benchmark its contracts across the whole supplier market, and structure agreements around how the site is genuinely used. It is the same work we do for businesses across the UK, from single premises to multi site operations, covering business electricity, business gas and business water.
It has been a great experience helping West Bromwich Albion secure its energy position. Energy costs are a huge consideration for any organisation, and securing them brings stability, which lets the club plan with confidence. We’re delighted to build on that work as the club’s official energy partner, and we look forward to supporting Albion for the seasons ahead.

A growing presence in football
This is not our first season in the game. We are the official energy supplier and back of shirt sponsor for Norwich City, a relationship that began as a regional partnership in 2022/23 and grew into a principal partnership. Over that time we have helped the Canaries secure more than £2 million in energy savings and move to a 100% renewable energy supply.
We also partner with Peterborough United and Lincoln City, and with grassroots clubs whose budgets are a great deal smaller but whose energy bills matter just as much. The full list is on our partnerships page.
More than a sponsorship
Away from the pitch, we put money behind causes our team cares about. We have raised over £10,000 for Sue Ryder, and since 2021 we have funded the planting of 325 trees with the Forest of Marston Vale.
Sponsorship is the visible part of what we do. The part that lasts is the account management behind it, and that is the same for a Championship club as it is for a takeaway in Bedford.
Looking ahead
We are looking forward to the 2026/27 season, to meeting supporters at The Hawthorns, and to getting on with the work. Securing a position is the start of the job, not the end of it. Contracts need managing, renewals need timing, and markets keep moving.
Want the same for your organisation?
If your energy costs have been climbing without anyone really looking at them, that is exactly the problem we solve. We compare the whole market, negotiate on your behalf and manage your contracts so nothing rolls onto expensive default rates. Get in touch with the team and we will tell you plainly whether you are paying a fair price.
